Red Road hosts 77th Republic Day parade with Mamata Banerjee as chief guest

The country’s 77th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur and full state honours on the historic Red Road, marking one of the most significant annual ceremonies in the state. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended the programme as the chief guest, arriving at the venue at 10:30 a.m. and acknowledging greetings from those present.

Governor C. V. Ananda Bose hoisted the national flag, following which Indian Air Force helicopters showered flower petals over the parade and spectators lining Red Road. The ceremonial display added to the solemn yet festive atmosphere of the celebrations.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inspected the parade and took the salute during the march-past by various military and civil contingents. This year’s parade showcased a distinctive blend of Bengal’s cultural heritage and the state’s administrative achievements.
